"<< Background >>The fact that the administrations have not yet put light pollution into a pollution class and not conducted a study on this issue yet shows that we cannot perceive the seriousness of the issue of light pollution. Light pollution is an international problem and is one of the least known but still has a major impact on our environment. People, students, teachers, local administration all are not aware of light pollution and its negative effects on nature. So we needed to increase awareness about this issue with our partner countries by combating light pollution locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to raising awareness of the issue of light pollution for the observation of the sky and for the overall natural environment, we would also like to draw attention to the waste of energy and the use of intelligent systems of lighting. The needs of partners were identified through the SWOT analysis described in their documents, the real analysis of activity reports, and teacher council meetings, which showed the need for intercultural education of students as a strategy to increase their awareness of light pollution and its negative effects on nature by working on this issue internationally to share good practices on it. << Objectives >>The Project FALP aimed at raising awareness about light pollution which is adversely affecting environment, safety, energy consumption, climate change and health and researching, comparing and sharing the approaches and applications about interactive, creative and innovative methods for teaching scientific and environmental subjects in the partner schools, implementing these methods into our school curriculum and disseminating the results of the applications and workshops. The planned activities aimed to raise awareness and to try to find the answers and solutions for the themes: - What is light pollution? - How to measure the light pollution - Measuring and reducing the energy waste because of the wrong lightning- Research and suggestions for the smarter, cleaner and greener lightning systems for the energy sustainability and climate change as mentioned in the priorities of EUROPE 2020 strategy -Supporting the global awareness on light pollution, raising awareness about international dark sky parks, encouraging the brilliant students to study the light, optic, photonic or engineering as a profession and to be innovative and creative in this field. << Implementation >> The activities we implemented in the project: -Prepare, distribute posters and brochures. --create the Erasmus+ corner at school. --organize a competition to create the Project logo. -carry out a preliminary and final questionnaire to investigate students' knowledge about basic knowledge on astronomy, environmental light pollution, measuring the light, energy consumption and recycling-design project website which will be the main dissemination tool for the project. -prepare Presentations of the products (interviews, videos, documentary and research) on ""the light in the nature"", ""the history of lightning"" and ""light and the culture""-write an essay about basic knowledge on astronomy, environmental light pollution and publish it in their school magazine -prepare Presentations of the products about ""What is light pollution"", ""the effects of light pollution on ecosystem"", ""the climate and the human health"" -visit to the Planetarium and Observatory -prepare a video about how to use SQM-create a leaflet about ""What is light pollution"", ""how to measure light pollution"", ""the effects of light pollution on the climate and the human health"" -prepare Presentations on ""Lightning"" , ""crime and safety"", ""the effects on the human physchology and the sociological effects"" -start of a campaign about “reducing light pollution” in change.org. create a survey about energy saving, renewable energy and the regulations and laws for the light pollution, -create a Project dictionary -definitions in English and their illustration -prepare a leaflet on ""how to save energy"" and ""reducing energy waste because of the wrong lightning"" and organize a seminar on ""Energy consumption and how to save energy"" ,""the regulations and laws for the light pollution"" -create presentations about ""Dark-sky heritage"", ""Light pollution and astronomy,"" ""International Dark-sky parks<< Results >>The concrete outcomes and other resıults of our project were:-Logo -Survey on basic astronomy and environmental knowledge - a video about how to use SQM -Measurements of light pollution using SQM and analysis of the results -Project poster -Language dictionary online -FALP e-book -FALP Project Fotoblog/video - people who contributed to our campaign about “reducing light pollution” in change.org- Project webpage, Erasmus corners-e-Twinning project spaces -International training course and seminar -Newsletters after each meeting/project corner -Questionnaire on light pollution, energy saving, environment, renewable energy -The teachers and students who have become a “citizen scientist”"
