"<< Background >>Green Collar Youth Workers project was initiated in response to pressing global challenges like climate change and resource depletion, which significantly impact young people's future prospects. We recognized a growing demand for sustainability among youth, particularly the young people and youth work, who increasingly prioritize environmental responsibility in their choices. Traditional youth work, often with a high carbon footprint and inefficient resource use, risks becoming disconnected from the values of the young people it aims to serve. Our primary goal is to address this gap by integrating the European Commission's Sustainability Competence Framework (#GreenComp) into youth work. The project addresses specific needs within our partnership: the applicant organization needed to transform its broad sustainability goals into a practical methodology for youth ; partners sought to develop sustainable applications, apply non-formal education methods to green topics, and connect corporate expertise in efficiency with the non-profit sector. By collaborating, we aim to create a greener, more digital, and inclusive methodology, fostering a new generation of ""Green Collar Youth Workers"" equipped to promote sustainability across Europe<< Objectives >>The objectives were:•To create a greener and more digital youth work methodology for international and national activities, based on the European Commission's Sustainability Competence Framework (#GreenComp). The project aimed to share good practices and create awareness about this new approach.•To build the institutional capacity of the partner organizations by fostering a collaborative approach that is more sustainable, inclusive, and digital.•To develop methodological content for youth work based on the GreenComp and Digital (#DigComp) Competence Frameworks, focusing on non-formal and peer education methods. It included creating a ""Green Ambassadors"" program to develop the skills of youth workers, leaders, and trainers.•To promote the ""Green-Collar Youth Worker"" brand and approach among public, civil, and private sector representatives and young people, addressing green youth work concepts and good practices at a European level.<< Implementation >>•Project Management and Implementation: It involved the formal setup of the project team, establishing communication channels, and creating the project's digital branding. The partners conducted regular online meetings, a face-to-face coordinators' meeting in Türkiye, and established financial and administrative tools to ensure quality management.•Capacity Building Activities: Core set of activities included developing case studies on green youth work and organizing application exchanges between Türkiye, Belgium, and Austria. A key activity was the ""Green Collar Youth Workers Training of Trainers"" (also called the Green Ambassador Training), which included creating training modules and delivering a 7-day course for 24 participants. The outcomes were compiled into reports and a guidebook.•Dissemination and Use of Results: To share the project's outcomes, the plan included creating a project website and a social media strategy. Activities were designed to popularize the ""Green-Collar Youth Worker"" brand, such as creating #Greentalks videos and podcasts, designing infographics for the case studies, and producing project newsletters. The newly trained ""Green Ambassadors"" were also tasked with implementing local activities.<< Results >>Reports, Publications, and Guides:•A key output is the English-language guidebook, ""A Guide to Greener Youth Work in 20 Steps"" , providing simple, practical steps for any youth organization to begin its sustainability journey.•A Case Study Report was produced, analyzing successful examples of green practices in youth work, with three cases.Training, Capacity Building, and Methodological Tools:•7-day ""Green Collar Youth Workers Training of Trainers"" course equipped 24 youth workers with skills in non-formal learning, energy efficiency, and digital transformation.•Participants were certified as ""Green Ambassadors"" and received Youthpass certificates to validate their learning.•Following the training, these Ambassadors were tasked with implementing different local actions.Digital Content and Dissemination Materials:•A strong digital presence was established through a dedicated project website, a clear digital branding strategy with a unique logo, and active social media accounts, including Instagram, YouTube, Spotify, and LinkedIn.•Multimedia content included a series of inspirational videos and podcasts under the title #Greentalks and easily readable infographics of the case studies."
