CERTIFICATION IN LANGUAGE FOR FURNITURE

<< Background >>Furniture is one of the most dynamically developing areas of European industry.Furniture is a sector of the economy which plays a strongly integrating role.Europe is one of the major regions where in the furniture export ratio is higher than imports. Italy, Germany, and France are the major countries in the industry owing to concentrations of major key players. There is also a need for high EU recognized certification of language skills and competences in furniture industry. Companies reported the following needs: - a foreign language knowledge to develop internationally - certfied qualifications, to participate in international faires - to make companies open to new, - to make companies innovative - a need for a simple and ready to use tool to improve their performance - need for new knowledge, for staff development, - need for distance trainings, especially during COVID 19. Partners made a needs analysis in their countries ( furniture sector, language schools) and they came to the conclusion that because of the fast growing export in furniture the need for foreign languages is enormous. The knowledge of a foreign language is among the recruitment criteria. It is also a good way to self development.<< Objectives >>The project aim was to teach people vocational Englishfor furniture sector through elearning tool and to develop new competences in furniture in foreign languages (English). The results of the project are gathered on bespoke e-learning platform to support digital learning.The developmemt of this project contributed to the improvement of competences relevant to the specific labour market by those new competences the project will contribute to the increase opportunities for learning and work mobilities. Participants - furniture staff obtained the validation and valorisation of their developed language skills and competences in line with European Qualifications Framework according to Europ. Cooperation for Accreditatiion. Project was designed to be implemented in a green way and partners are encouraged to promote an environment -friendly approach, they will discuss at each project stage the possibilities of alternative, greener ways of implementing project activities.<< Implementation >>The main project activity was he development of intellectual outputs as listed below:PR1 FURNITURE LANGUAGE COURSE for furniture in English with the content for furniture based on CLIL methodology, using the furniture knowledge. The course was based on the previously developed framework and guidelines. They covered the level B1/B2 of language skills. PR2 E-LEARNING FOR FURNITURE The aim of this output was to develop e-learning course on the e-learning platform, create E-learning FURNITURE platform tailor made for the project to support the digital and distance teaching and learning.PR3 This project result was dedicated to the official certification of individuals – workers in the furniture sector leading by UNICERT S.A., which an accredited certification body. In this project result UNICERT S.A. developed the certification framework for the gained knowledge, competences and skills of workers in furniture sector who participate in the projectand developed the certification process. PR4 CREATIVE WORKSHOP ON DIGITAL LANGUAGE LEARNING Workshop enables teachers to develop an awareness of and support. The workshop helped people in finding new ideas and chalenges. Each partner implemented 2 workshops - one for teachers - one for staff of furniture sector - the language learning for furniture.Partners participated also in QUALITY ASSURANCE and project evaluation and in SHARING, PROMOTION, DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION - activities and in overall management and administration of the project. << Results >>The intellectual outputs listed below:PR1 FURNITURE LANGUAGE COURSE for furniture in English with the content for furniture based on CLIL methodology, using the furniture knowledge.
