"<< Background >>This project was launched in response to a growing need for youth education on climate change and disaster resilience. The COVID-19 pandemic, war, and increasing natural hazards have shown how vulnerable societies are to global disruptions. National and EU studies highlight that young people in Romania, Turkey, and Portugal feel disempowered and underprepared to face such challenges. Surveys revealed over 70% of youth in partner countries do not believe they can act meaningfully against climate change. Furthermore, youth workers lack specific training and tools to address these topics. The project addressed these needs by developing innovative educational methods, practical simulations, and creating local and online resilience centers. It aimed to empower disadvantaged youth with intervention skills, strengthen their civic responsibility, and improve the quality of youth work, aligned with national climate strategies and EU sustainability goals. The project addressed previously identified needs by supporting young people from Romania, Turkey, and Portugal who had shown low awareness of climate change, limited disaster response capacity, and a lack of trained youth workers equipped to deliver resilience and environmental education.<< Objectives >>O1:To develop by at least 60% of the technical and institutional capacity of the partner organizations, for raising awareness about climate change and resilience in earthquake and fire situations, among younger generations who will bear the brunt of the consequences of climate change in the future; It was linked with the Environment and the fight against climate change"" a priorityO2.O2:To increase intervention skills and resilience behaviors in emergency situations, caused by earthquakes and fires, among at least 150 young people from disadvantaged categories in Ro, Tr, and PtIt was linked with the Increasing quality, innovation, and recognition of youth work priorityO3.To showcase the potential of technology as a tool for education and awareness-raising about climate change and promoting sustainable development and resilienceIt was linked with both priorities, the Environment and the fight against climate change, and with the Increasing quality, innovation, and recognition of youth work priorityOb 4: To create an international network of minimum 4 organizations, and experts in eco-social and resilience youth education at international standards, for sustainable developmentWe connected this objective with the third Eu direc<< Implementation >>1.
