"<< Objectives >>The project ""Empower Democracy"" strengthens the democratic competencies of young adults in the growing EU. Three core aspects are crucial: understanding democratic competencies, practical educational offerings, and qualified course leaders. All of these bring challenges that the involved organizations are already addressing. The goal is to develop sustainable solutions to improve the quality of work in the area of democratic competencies in the long term.<< Implementation >>To create a shared understanding of democratic competencies, the consortium is developing a competency framework based on existing results. Building on this, practical educational offerings for young adults will be created. A particular challenge is finding qualified course leaders, which is difficult. Therefore, they will be specifically trained in a Summer School and will then test the educational offerings in a pilot phase.<< Results >>In the short term, educational modules, a Summer School, qualified course leaders, and materials will be created. After the project ends, the modules will be integrated into the curricula of the partners, and the course leaders will remain active. In the medium term, other organizations will implement the offerings and train course leaders. The Summer School will serve as a model for additional educational topics. In the long term, young people will be empowered for democratic participation."
