"<< Background >>In connection with the European Year of Youth and its objectives, euradio wanted with its partners Eurêka 21 and Géopolis to develop a project that aimed to give voice to young people and connect territories and citizens to Europe. Our project addressed two needs : a need to discuss Europe with a concrete, local and citizen approach, to counter misinformation and euroscepticism and a second need, that was to raise awareness on European democratic and civic values across European territories and mainly among European youth. Beyond these two global needs, our project answered the needs of our target group (young journalists) to engage and express their views on the EU as well as their need to develop their journalistic skills. << Objectives >>Through our project ""27 minutes to discuss Europe"", the objective was, first and foremost, to talk about Europe in a different way, closer to the territories and their citizens. To be able to reach this objective we relied on the input of young Europeans, aspiring journalists, who have a different and complementary vision of what Europe represents today, and of its main challenges linked to citizenship, European values, the environment and geopolitics. The second objective was to make these young journalists ambassadors of the European democratic values among other citizens, including young people from rural or remote territories. << Implementation >>Four complementary activities were implemented during the project : - A training activity for 13 young European aspiring journalists divided into two sessions : one on radio techniques and one on the functioning of the European Union and on geopolitical subjects - The organization of exchanges and of a preparatory work between young Europeans from ""pilot"" rural territories and the young aspiring-journalists - The co-production and broadcasting (on air and online) of six podcasts and two radio shows, on topics related to the EU priorities and news, - A final event to disseminate the results of the project in Europa Nantes, including a workshop to present the project to the wider public and the recording of one radio show on Youth in Europe.<< Results >>The project led to several results : - The production of a training for 13 young European aspiring journalists in radio/journalism practice, and on current geopolitical issues related to the EU, - The production of a guide to support young journalists in the development of a radio podcast (subject definition, production, broadcasting),- The co-production, realization and broadcasting of six podcasts and two radio shows by young European aspiring journalists about current topics of their choice, and giving the opportunity to young Europeans to be heard on major society topics such as fight for climate change, political engagement and the uberisation of working conditions…"
