"<< Background >>A working group on adult education (AE) in the EU with the participation of CONEDU and Auxilium has found that knowledge about EU programmes and their accessibility is not sufficiently widespread among AE institutions - especially among smaller and inexperienced organisations. Although there are numerous websites with the necessary information, they are often experienced as high-threshold and do not sufficiently facilitate access to funding programmes. There were also some projects that dealt with EU programmes and their funding on an analytical level. What was missing, however, was an openly accessible, easy-to-use instrument that was tailored to the needs of AE organisations. It is particularly important for AE to collect and make accessible the know-how required for successful participation in EU programmes: According to a study by the EAEA (2018), AE organisations are often dependent on project funding - especially when they are dedicated to tasks in which companies invest little but which are important to society (e.g. democracy education, European citizenship). Participation in projects is therefore necessary for AE organisations and is also a declared objective of the EU Commission.<< Objectives >>The project aimed to facilitate access to centralised EU programmes (without national co-financing) for adult education institutions (especially those with little or no experience of participating in EU programmes). To this end, the project team wanted to provide an information pathway in the form of an online professionalisation tool. The tool should enable adult education institutions to assess the benefits and requirements of EU programmes for projects and international cooperation and to decide in which cases a programme is suitable and promising for the institution. The collection and documentation of the necessary knowledge and the development of the information path should also strengthen the competence of the institutions involved in the partnership to find further access to EU programmes and networks.<< Implementation >>Three main activities were carried out:1. ""Project management"": this included tasks such as planning and organising the project and its processes (planning and organising tasks, roles, communication processes, setting and monitoring milestones, planning and controlling the budget, ...), organising and conducting meetings, coordinating and conducting dissemination activities, preparing project reports.2 ""Knowledge creation"": This included the development and implementation of an online survey on the experiences and needs of adult education providers in the context of EU funding programmes, the preparation of a concept paper that served as a basis for the design of the information pathway, and the planning and implementation of a development workshop with all partners in Brussels to discuss and select suitable EU programmes for adult education.3."" Designing the information pathway"": This activity included the development of the pathway as an online tool based on the concept paper, the revision of the first draft of the pathway after testing/review by all partners, and the design and production/programming and online implementation of the pathway on erwachsenenbildung.at.<< Results >>The main result of the project is an online information tool that uses a self-assessment to help identify the requirements of one’s own organisation for participation in EU programmes, that presents expert tips, determines an ""eligibility score"" and shows suitable funding programmes for adult education. The tool can be accessed at the forwarding address http://path2eu4ae.eu, but is hosted on the portal https://erwachsenenbildung.at for resource reasons. In addition to the tool, there is also an FAQ website https://ogy.de/9106 as well as a page with the project description, in which the background to the tool is presented /https://ogy.de/jdhe) and the use of the tool is explained, as well as a privacy policy https://ogy.de/vpq1.As part of the preparatory work for this online tool, a concept paper was developed containing background information and ideas for the design of the information path. Part of this concept paper are results from the survey of adult educators about their experiences and needs in the context of participation in EU funding programmes https://ogy.de/wuep."
