D-TIDE-KG - Digital Transformation for Inclusive Doctoral Education in Kyrgyzstan

The D-TIDE-KG project addresses the need for equitable, high-quality doctoral education through digital technologies in Kyrgyzstan. Collaborating with the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), the project aims to transform PhD education by digitalizing programs and enhancing accessibility for remote regions.Key objectives include:1.Digital transformation via the development of an IT platform to create and pilot digital PhD programs, improving access for underserved areas.2.Harmonization of doctoral programs with European Higher Education Area and Bologna Process standards to enhance global recognition.3.Capacity building via training academic and administrative staff in digital competencies and program management to improve doctoral education quality.4.Fostering partnerships between Kyrgyz and European institutions to optimize resources and exchange knowledge.5.Strengthening governance frameworks and integrating digital doctoral education into national strategies.The project is structured across four work packages:•Project management•PhD platform conceptualization and development•Piloting digital PhD program environment•Dissemination and policy integrationEach work package emphasizes sustainability, inclusivity, and environmental consciousness, utilizing energy-efficient IT infrastructure and minimizing carbon footprint through virtual meetings and hybrid events.Expected outcomes include:•Developing a needs-based IT platform•Deploying 10 digitalized PhD programs•Training 100 staff members•Enrolling 100 doctoral students in pilot programs•Revising three national policy documents•Creating a sustainability planBy reducing regional disparities and promoting inclusivity, the project will enhance Kyrgyzstan's capacity to produce globally competitive researchers. MES's active participation ensures the project's outcomes are integrated into the national higher education system, aligning with both national and Erasmus+ priorities.
