<< Background >>For the European Commission, the transition to a more circular economy is an important step in the modernisation of the European economy. This is not only because the circular economy allows for significant energy savings and environmental benefits. It is also a strategy with sufficient potential to improve the competitiveness of companies, increasing their profits and creating jobs locally. The aim of the project is for youth workers to become real drivers of change, as we identified the need to train youth workers, providing them with the necessary tools to set up and develop activities aimed at young people, such as employment workshops and personalised guidance to raise awareness and train young immigrants in the circular economy as an element to improve their employability so that they can be trained in new professional profiles. It seems clear that there is a generation of young immigrants in a situation of unemployment and at risk of marginalisation who need social integration and who must openly show their commitment to the environment and to the 2030 agenda of the United Nations and its 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The project targets groups at risk of exclusion (ethnic or cultural diversity).<< Objectives >>The aim of the project is for youth workers to become real drivers of change as we identify the need to train youth workers, equip them with the necessary tools to implement and develop activities aimed at young people, such as employment workshops and personalised guidance in order to raise awareness and train young immigrants on the circular economy as an element to improve their employability so that they are trained in new professional profiles. The project aims to exchange innovative practices that prepare young workers to become real drivers of change (learning about and disseminating the circular economy among young people). It also aims to promote the inclusion and employability of young people with fewer opportunities (immigrants), with a special focus on young people at risk of marginalisation.<< Implementation >>Within the CEY project, the consortium implemented the following activities:- Management and implementation: - Elaboration of partnership agreements with partners; - Meetings with partners via Zoom to coordinate the development of the project; - Development of the management and implementation plan; - Corporate identity manual that includes the project logo; Project website (https://sites.google.com/view/circular-economy-for-immigrant/start);- Collection of good practices/electronic manual for trainers of young people in the circular economy and environment;- Learning activity/ Employment course in the circular economy;- Local events.<< Results >>- Development of a training manual on employability in the circular economy.- Development of an online tool platform for youth workers working with young immigrants.- Knowledge of the working methods of other organisations and countries through the exchange of good practices on circular economy, immigration and employment.- Improvement of participants' competences in the knowledge of the circular economy and the possibilities of labour inclusion it offers. - Preparation in the use of participatory and motivational tools.
