<< Background >>It is clear that we urgently need to address global warming by reducing CO2 emissions, particularly in the transport sector, through the adoption of electric drivetrains (e-Transport). The EU's initiatives like the 'Green Deal plan' emphasize this shift. However, this transition poses challenges for vocational education and training (VET) as it requires new skills and competencies for those working with electric vehicles. Factors such as rapid technological growth, increased availability of e-Transport vehicles, and a skills gap further complicate VET education in this field. To meet these challenges, closer collaboration between VET organizations and businesses in the e-Transport sector is essential to share knowledge and experiences and adapt to evolving technology and labor market needs. This relatively new and very rapidly developing technology requires new skills and competences for the people who sell, service and repair these vehicles and thus also for VET education. Reinventing the wheel is slow and not very inefficient. Knowing how and where to access this new information and sharing teaching materials and methodologies helps VET organisations to quicker adapt to the new labor market needs.<< Objectives >>The ETN4VET project and network aimed to narrow the skill gap between e-Transport, VET education, and labor market needs. Here are the key objectives and activities:•Upskilling VET Teachers: The project focuses on continuous development of VET teachers' competence in e-transport education by sharing the latest knowledge and educational methodologies.•Strengthening Work-Life Cooperation: By improving network analysis and networking skills, the project enhances cooperation between VET organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders in the e-transport sector.•Building a European VET Providers' Network: ETN4VET establishes and maintains a strong European network of VET providers specializing in e-transport. This network supports the rapid development of e-transport education.•Studying and Networking Events: The project plans and organizes Learning, Teaching, and Training Activities (LTTAs) to address relevant questions in e-Transport.•Student and Staff Mobility Programs: ETN4VET aims to create a network that facilitates qualitative student and staff mobility programs.Overall, the project seeked to optimize cooperation, build trust, and accelerate the adoption of VET education in the e-transport field.<< Implementation >>The execution of the ETN4VET project plan has resulted in 3 physical and 8 online LTTA’s (Study and Networking Events) between November 2021 and May 2024. Each of the 3 physical LTTA/SNE existed of the following activities:•Welcome and presentation of the host organization•Calculation of carbon footprint produced by traveling•School tour•Presentation of the e-Transport network of the host organisation•SWOT analysis about the e-Transport network of the host organisation•Excursion to ‘e-mobility partner company •Presentations and studying best practice teaching material & methodology used by the host organisation.•Finding answers on FAQ•Training ‘How to improve my networking skills?’•Workshop ‘How to put SWOT into action?•Presentation and studying best practice teaching material & methodology of one of the other partner organisations•Finding answers on FAQ •Cultural program.See Annex 2 (ETN4VET SNE reports) for more details. Each of the 8 online LTTA’s/SNE’s (in which 8 partner organisation presented themselves and their EV education methodology and materials) existed of the following activities:•Sharing of new/interesting e-Transport developments•Presentation of used e-Transport teaching materials and methodology•Presentation of a business partner about a new development in e-Transport technology•Q&A•A few partners also included an online school tour.Recordings of the events including used presentations and participant lists are shared in the ETN4VET 4 Friends MS TEAMS platform. To be able to execute this project in the most effective way, resulting in the most valuable outcomes, the Steering Board (SB) - with representatives of each partner - has had 3 physical TPM/SB meetings and 8 online SB meetings in which the organisation and progress of the project were discussed. See Annex 1 (Steering Board minutes) for more details. In order to let other relevant stakeholders - outside the consortium - profit from the ETN4VET project and its results, several dissemination activities have been executed during the project period. See Annex 5 (ETN4VET Dissemination report) for more details.<< Results >>A detailed description of the concrete project results and outcomes can be found in Annex 6 (ETN4VET Impact report) and the Sustainability chapter of this report..
