<< Background >>The idea of the project was born out of the observation of the fact that an increasing number of students are not interested in conscious and active participation in social life. Young people ignore the role of international institutions and often do not understand their impact on the daily lives of citizens. Students from Hungary, Italy and Polish struggled with the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, e.g. the deterioration of the economic status of families, fear for the future, and lack of trust in the authorities. The project aimed to increase the recognition of European institutions among students and to educate active European citizens. We wanted to activate the attitude of students towards social life and provoke them to participate in it. Meeting people from different countries and working in multicultural teams was a great opportunity for the students to exchange ideas and impressions. Students could inspire each other by showing different problems from different perspectives. The motivation to implement our project was strengthened by the fact that 2022 was declared the European Year of Youth. We wanted to put our project in this context and profit from it.<< Objectives >>The main goals of the project are: For students: greater involvement in the social life of students, dissemination of common values, development of mathematical and linguistic competences, reducing disproportions between students from disadvantaged financial backgrounds, developing sensitivity and responsibility for themselves, but also for the guests received, during mobility and, as a consequence, opening up to the needs of other people. But also to develop awareness of other cultures, through confrontation with foreign languages and customs. For teachers: increasing language competences, learning new methods of students' work, establishing relationships that will be used in the implementation of future projects. The aim of the project was also to strengthen the relationship between parents and the school and to raise the image of the school in the local community.<< Implementation >>During the implementation of the project tasks, students participated four mobilities, in discussion sessions, during which they practiced the ability to express their opinions in a foreign language. They analyzed data, searched for information in order to create charts and graphs about the European Union. They prepared presentations based on the information they obtained. During the debates, they formulated their postulates and solutions on selected topics, e.g. climate change, personal data protection, education. They created short videos, posters and quizzes using IT tools, thus developing their digital skills. During the mobility, the students developed sensitivity and responsibility for themselves, but also for the guests they received. They also developed an awareness of other cultures by confronting foreign languages and countries. Teachers took part in demonstration classes/lessons during the mobility. As a result, they developed their professional skills by sharing good practices. They developed ICT skills, as most of the activities were carried out using digital tools. Using English in communication, they developed their knowledge of English.<< Results >>As a result of the actions taken, the students: - created a logo for the project, the implementation of which was preceded by a lecture conducted in English by a teacher from a Polish school, - multimedia presentations, each devoted to a different issue in accordance with the mobility schedule- leaflets disseminated in schools, concerning the activities carried out- posters resulting from workshops conducted at school on the most important problems bothering contemporary youth- in each partner school, a display case was created to disseminate the project schedule, partner countries and illustrate the most important activities undertaken during the implementation of the project- articles were published on the websites of local city authorities, describing each of the four completed mobilities, and the project in its entiretyThe result of the project is also an increase in digital and language competences (all online tasks and meetings were carried out in international groups) for both students and teachers. The dissemination of the project results and its implementation itself raised the image of the school in the local community. They also had an impact on improving social competences.
