Training module Inclusive First Aid

<< Objectives >>TIFA intends to contribute to wider availability of first aid courses for persons with disabilities by addressing a gap in trainer education. Regular first aid trainer education does not currently include how to teach first aid to persons with disabilities and most educational offers that exist are thus based on experience, flexibility, and goodwill of individual trainers. TIFA will develop and test a train-the-trainer module for further and initial trainer education to address this issue.<< Implementation >>The project will conduct a structured process of creating a train-the-trainer module on first aid for persons with disabilities based on the current mainstream first aid guidelines. This module will be tested and evaluated in pilot actions before authoring the final version to be released. The project's work is a collaboration of first aid organisations, social service providers and disabled people's organisations, who each contribute their own specific expertise.<< Results >>The concrete result of the project will be a train-the-trainer module that can be used for further education of first aid trainers but potentially also in initial education of trainers and thus make a long-term positive contribution to the availability of accessible and inclusive courses wherever it is implemented - within the circle of the consortium and at other first aid educators, who adapt the module, which will be available as an open educational resource, for their training programs.
