Our Living Values

"<< Background >>As we were teachers from 7 different countries, we discussed an important topic for us about how low the motivation of students is. Then we decided that it was better to look for the positive examples-familiar to the children. We found those people who are living values of our communities. People who give hope to others.Through methods interesting for students and local communities we looked for and choose the living values of world. We showed their importance in motivating young people to engage actively in school and public life. The project content activities aimed to social, civil, intercultural competences and critical thinking , to promoting the acquisition of skills and competences, to change the passive thinking ""I do not depend on anything"" and through this project to prepare future educated but also active European citizens.<< Objectives >>Increase our capacity to operate at transnational level; - Share our ideas to find the Living Values and to present them as positive examples; - Educate individuals with good character - Give pupils the opportunity to express their values through behavior - Ensure the parallel functioning of character and values education in the family and school - Increase the awareness about values education - Facilitate personal contact and interaction; - Increase the feeling of European citizenship; - Raise awareness about environmental issues; - Raise awareness about other cultures and traditions.<< Implementation >>Each member of the project teams was assigned tasks and together they will carry out the project activities and some of them became common final products. - Website , logo ad motto of the project - Research work: pupils together with their teachers found the most important persons brought positive changes to our local communities or countries. These are our living values, past or present. - Designing posters with important persons, those living values of our local community or at national level. There was an exhibition in each school of posters and drawings made by our pupils about great personalities . - Writing essays about local living values, past or present that brought their contribution to the local community or school. The essays were collected and a digital book was created by the Romanian school. - Quiz contest were held in each school about great personalities - Great personalities of our community/country. - We created a digital map whre we highlighted our countries on Europe's map so that our pupils and everyone who learns about our project can better see our partners. - We wrote a common poem about “love”. Each country wrote one or more stantzas and sent it to the Greece school. At the end; these parts became one single poem book. - Teaching “a song of Peace” by Teresa Jennings and recording our pupils’ voices in only one video. In this way we taught them PEACE. The recordings will e sent to the Polish school that created the full video, the common product. - We watched the movie, called” Wonder” (directed by Stephen Chbosky-2017 , ) and "" BFG"" (after Roald Dahl story) and wrote comments on it in the padlet. By doing this they learned FRIENDSHIP & EMPATHY. We created an eTwinning project withing our project and used the Twin Space to write and share the comments. The Romanian school was responsible with it. - “Our responsibilities to live in abetter world” – the pupils wrote essays and the essays were sent to the Bulgarian school to create an eBook. We taught them RESPONSIBILITY. - Planting trees- each school planted trees in the school garden at the beginning of the project, the pupils watched them grow and took care of them and at the end we took pictures and made a collage with photo of our grown trees. Flowers were also planted in flower pots and created Green classrooms. Campaign for cleaning our environment- once in two months we cleaned the parks around the schools and the surroundings. We celebratedEnvironment Day on each 5th June .We thus taught ECO-RESPONSIBILITY. - A photo contest took place , with the theme ""Our treasure, the Nature"". Once in a term will be checked the stage of activities development, the respecting of the calendar of activities and the correct management of the time spent for each activity. We exchanged the results of all activities in different ways: online, exhibitions, we shared them also on our project's website and we also had online meetings. Host countries prepared for the LTTs and planned the activities that were carried out during the meetings by creating detailed program. All schools finalized the agreed activities and produced results and products of the project. During the project meeting materials were exchanged between the participating countries. The tasks were distributed equally to the partners. We have an website which is the space where we shared project results. Each country has a summary about own culture made by the students and the teachers . We developed the activities related to each country, active citizenship, Eco activities sports and games, social skills. We had contact activities among the students (they exchanged postcards or letters, videos, etc.)Expositions were made with the tasks done (videos, skype connections) the final results were summarized on ebooks using web2 tools. We led an investigation about the partner countries as a way to break stereotypes: what we“know”, and what is true. We looked for similarities in some customs, celebrations, food, historical events. We strengthened the relations of the schools with local communities and local authorities, We acquired active European citizens-civic skills and competences, strengthened the capacity of schools to engage in international activities with the participation of pupils, We chose the Living Values modern World together. << Results >>1.Our folklore- school curriculumEach country created a school curriculum, an optional subject to be studied by students about traditions and customs, about national folklore. The knowledge acquired within the activities of L.T.T. will be deepened through these courses. Also, the beneficiaries can be a very large number of students, as the participants will also be students who did not participate in the project activities, so it will demonstrate its sustainability. Parents cannot spend as much time as they would like with their children, so we believe that our students can learn more about our national values at school. 2. etwinning projectWe have created an eTwinning project and use the Twin Space in order to disseminate the results of our activities but also to share the results of the common activities. The students and teachers could share in the padlets their thoughts and opinions, laso their memories from the face to face meetings.3. Project website We have created a project website in order to upload all information about it, therefore to disseminate our activities, common and local. it is a genuine source of information and inspiration for other projects and for finding future partners for future projects.4. Poems bookOne of our activities was to create a collaborative story jumper with love and friendship poems written by our students. Each partner school had its own page in which the teachers uploaded the poems and edited in their own way. The result was a common ebook of a collection of students creations. This activity taught them friendhisp and love for the others, tolerance and mutual understanding. This e-book was presented to teachers who teach Romanian and foreign languages, as examples of good practices that can be carried out in extracurricular activities.5.Our living values - our personalities„Our Living Values” is an ebook that presents some of the greatest personalities of each country partner in this project. The information was selected by the students and translated with the help of their teachers. It was created with book creator application , a collaborative work to create this final product. The link of this book made with web tools was shared on the whatsapp groups of the classes so that aszmany students as possible benefit from , that is those who did not participate in the L.T.T activities of the project.6. Our responsibility to live in a better world- book of essaysWe have created an ebook , which is a collection of the pupils' essays from each partner school . The pupils gathered their ideas and wrote them down in order to create this book . The teachers helped them with the translations where there were younger pupils. The aim was to teach them responsibility to make this world a better one. the pupils also shared their ideas by reading their essays aloud, during the English and native language lessons and the ebook can also be read by anyone who accesses its link. in this way, anyone can find ours and our pupils' cry for help to get together to make this world a better one.7. Digital mapWe have created a digital map so that we highlight our countries on Europe's map, to show that even if we come from so different parts of Europe, from such big distances, we have common values, but also to reinforce in the students' memory the geographical position of the partners. Also, this activity contributed to the development of students' skills to use web 2.0 tools in the realization of simple projects.8. Song of peace In each partner school, the teachers made the pupils listen to the song of peace by Teresa Jennings. Each partner had to record one stanza, the, we gathered the parts and created a common song in a very inspiring and really touching video. We taught them love for the other and how precious peace for the humankind.9.Tree gardenOne of the objectives of our project activities was to teach our pupils eco -responsibility. Each school planted trees in the school garden at the beginning of the project, the students watched them grow and took care of them and at the end we took pictures and made a collage of our grown trees. This activity was very enjoyed by the pupils, since they could work together, They could share their results with the pupils from the other schools, and they had the opportunity to spend time in the open air. They are very proud of their work and promised to continue taking care of it."
