EFFICACY - Enhancing capacities of HEIs to enable commencement and development of energy efficiency industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan

In the Efficacy project seven national universities from Azerbaijan will together collaborate with 3 EU Programme countries (Sweden, Germany and Denmark) and two organisations from EU toward creating new curriculum with emphasis on energy management within the special conditions and needs of the Third Country partner. The collaboration is inspired by controversy of needs, advanced countries having achieved best results on the energy management both in delivery of higher education and adoption of it in industrial and building contexts, and a country where enabling environment has just been created to support functioning of the sector but is in need for urgent relevant capacities. In this situation knowledge flow will be happen from EU countries to Third Country of Azerbaijan. It aims to develop relevant skills and competencies to serve for the objectives of the country to enable deployment of energy efficiency across sectors; building and industrial contexts, required to support the enabling environment with energy efficiency investment and financing. More specifically, it will significantly focus on capacity building for educators on the new curriculum in the partner country. The new curriculum will introduce new teaching and learning approach – i.e., challenge driven learning – which will lead the students to experience project-based learning on actual challenges of the industry. It will further focus on creating learning modules for upskilling and retraining of industry representatives which will further be involved in maintaining their competence on the most recent knowledge and competencies. The results of the project will be widely disseminated by deeper studies on the topics from scientific point of view by international scientific conference.
