Bioethics and Philosophy of History

The modern world, which is determined by faith in reason and progress and emancipation, and is fundamentally identified with the scientific and technological epoch of world history, which has reached its end. The end of the epoch, its completion, can be recognized from the new historical situation in which the assumptions on which it was based (mastery of nature based on understanding knowledge as power) were brought to their ultimate consequences. After man has reached a situation where he can constitutionally change not only nature, but also his own nature, it is obvious that this also means redefining the concept of responsibility, which must be extended to the entirety of life itself (BIOCENTRIC INSTEAD OF ANTHROPOCENTRIC RESPONSIBILITY). Research should show the philosophical origins of science and technology, the connection between the philosophy of history and the principles of modern philosophy, and the unsustainability of a definitive interpretation of world history. In this way, space is opened for other approaches and perspectives, and ultimately for a multi-perspective problem area, which in its essence is bioethics. From this multi-perspective, it is necessary to articulate the current issue of the world-historical break at the end of an epoch, and a philosophical-historical perspective should be identified as the basis of an orientation framework that would be appropriate for the new situation. This task, on the one hand, requires an analysis of the assumptions of the rise of scientific and technical civilization (from F. Bacon to contemporary scientism), and on the other hand, the introduction into the discussion of those thinkers who questioned these assumptions. Vice, from Vice who believed that limiting knowledge is legitimized from the limited power of creation, through Nietzsches understanding of perspectivism and comprehensive criticism of modernity to contemporary authors who write with the experience of facing the possibility of a global catastrophe. The research should contribute to the understanding of the new era and point to possible global landmarks in the new world-historical situation. In addition, the research aims to design a philosophical-historical perspective within bioethical methodological pluriperspectivism.
