Radiotherapy Treatment Planning System - the most advanced optimization algorithms for 3D dose calculation of external beams in the body and their integration into the new generation of the treatment planning system.

The primary goal of the PLAN_MC project is to create a new generation of complex planning system for photon beam 3D radiotherapy. The planning system will be based on the bleeding-edge computational algorithms for application of advanced raditherapy technologies relevant within at least next decade. Realisation of the new generation of planning system is directly bound to existing research activities and strategic goals of the commercial activites of the project co-ordinator whose one of the main operations is directed towards complex delivery of equipment for raditherapy workplaces on global scale. The most advanced algorithms of Monte-Carlo computation and completely new radiobiological model of treatment process support will be implemented as a complex SW in co-operation with other members of the project team.The resulting product - software is designed for end users around the world and will be distributed either individually or as part of a comprehensive solution to the delivery of radiotherapy systems manufactured by UJP.
