Many of today’s educational challenges are longstanding, wicked problems. Examples are inequality of chances and teacher shortage. This proposal explores the potential of social design as a research methodology for solving wicked problems in the educational field. We explore how a specific social design approach - Frame Innovation - can enrich the way we look at educational research processes, the way we look at the roles of educational researchers, the way we look at outcomes of educational research and the way we look at criteria for quality and impact of educational research.
