The NextGenOpt project aims to develop new optimization models and techniques to create a robust, open-source optimization tool for complex energy systems that addresses the limitations of current simplistic models: the TulipaEnergyModel. Tulipa was developed by experts from TNO, TU Delft, Utrecht University and the eScience Center. This additional project focuses on fostering an active community of developers and users through early engagement and training. By building micro-learning communities, the project ensures the effectiveness, user-friendliness, and broad adoption of Tulipa, supporting the transition to a sustainable energy system.
