RAPID-Wind: Real-time Analysis and Prediction of Innovative monopile Designs for next-generation Wind Turbines in Deep Waters

RAPID-WIND aims to unlock a new market for offshore wind energy by developing a cutting-edge computational tool for designing innovative monopile foundations for next-generation wind turbines in deep waters. As wind farms expand into deeper seas, current designs face challenges in withstanding wind and wave loads. This research will enhance the speed and accuracy of simulations by leveraging adaptive methods and the power of supercomputing. Based on the results, it will then train highly efficient, data-driven reduced-order models for fast, reliable predictions. The ultimate goal is to enable cost-effective, environmentally sustainable monopile designs supporting the global transition to renewable energy.
