The underwater noise caused by piling of monopile foundations of offshore wind turbines forms an increasing threat to sea animals. Estimating and reducing the sound is challenging due to the development in regulations and the increase in the noise levels due to larger foundations. In this project, SeaState5 will use new calculation techniques to develop systems which can reduce the emitted sound more reliably.
