Mix die taal! Or maybe not? Many multilingual people automatically mix languages while speaking. We investigate whether children struggle with language learning when languages are mixed in their environment. Additionally, we look at how and why multilingual children themselves mix languages. Our research focuses not only on children with normal language development, but also on what language mixing means for children who have difficulties learning language and are diagnosed with a Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
