In 2020 the Route Sports & Exercise has widened its scope now also emphasizing societal impact. For this purpose, three research strands have been created, now called ‘Roadmaps 2030’ for Sport and Exercise. These strands are ‘open’ roadmaps; i.e. open to new stakeholder cooperation on a regional level, linked to participating universities (of applied sciences) and university medical centres. The roadmaps 2030 are: 1. Moving smarter and better, 2. Healthy Generation 2030 and 3. Lifestyle as Medicine. Currently, we are building ’multi-stakeholder consortia’ for each Roadmap. These multi- stakeholder consortia will target a wider network of stakeholders. The fact that the societal challenges that we are facing today need cross-sectoral expert knowledge and a deeper insight into complex behavioural patterns for possible socio-ecological change (at systemic, organisational and citizen-level), is the main driver behind this network expansion. For 2021 the current activities will be continued, accelerated and expanded. However, the following actions are needed. These actions will be in the form of (online) virtual sessions, but preferably Covid-proof physical meetings: 1) Stakeholder engagement, 2) Setting common agenda’s, 3) Designing a ‘business model’ for the cooperation, 4) Designing regional/national and international dimensions, 5) Finalising design into a digital product (website).
