Knowledge production and exchange in land resettlement areas in Zimbabwe

The research builds upon existing research on livelihoods of agriculturists in specific resettled areas in Zimbabwe. The existing research provides quantitative material over 20 years. The current research will focus on a number of case studies to provide qualitative material on the production, exchange and dissemination of agricultural knowledge. It will look at both local and scientific knowledge, placing these in the social context of bodies of knowledge present in the communities. The research will examine how types of knowledge interact in the adoption and adaptation of new technologies from outside.
