Understanding Materials by Characterizing Essential Distributions

Modern polymers (plastics, paints, etc.) consist of very complex molecules of great structural diversity. Ever smarter chemical reactions are designed to make even more complex polymers. Urgent problem is that contemporary analytical methods are not capable of revealing the obtained molecular complexity. This implies that the relation between polymer structures and functional properties remains unclear. In UNMATCHED universities and companies together will develop new analytical methods to improve separation and detection complex polymers. This will ultimately lead to more efficient ways to develop new polymers.
