The goal of the CLEANpack project is to unlock advanced mechanical recycling (including physical recycling methods) as a methodology to allow closed loop recycling of polyolefin based food packaging. The project will deliver an objective and unique scientific understanding of the potential of the most common advanced mechanical recycling options to achieve food quality polyolefin recyclates. The insights gained are expected to inform policies and guide investments in these technologies.
