School en Omgeving: Activiteiten om leerlingen in het basisonderwijs te helpen de sociaal-emotionele vaardigheden te ontwikkelen.

With the School and Environment programme, coalition Breda offers after-school activities in sports, culture and awareness for students in grade 4-8 in primary education. The main aim is to strengthen students social-emotional skills. Using a mixed methods approach of quantitative and qualitative research, we examine evidence of possible effects of initiatives aimed at talent and skill development on students development. We also investigate differential effects (e.g. by age) and determinants for effectiveness. Data are collected with validated questionnaires and instruments of observation, and in-depth interviews. The results provide valuable insights for science, practice and policy.
