With support from NWO WOTRO, the Legume breeding program at the University of Abomey-Calavi has applied for registration of the first kerstings groundnut variety in the national variety catalogue of Benin. Also, the project trained 8 seed cooperatives on the recommended practices for KG seed production and processes to get seed certified. Through technical involvement of the local NGO AgriDev-Vie, seed cooperatives have been trained and continue to receive guidance, to implement farmer-to-farmer seed dissemination. Two MSc theses were developed, and one scientific article has been published in a peer-reviewed journal with impact factor. One other manuscript is under review.
