In this research a conceptual framework is developed in which the interplay between specific groups of lifelong learners, their unfolding self-directedness and the characteristics of the learning contexts in which they learn is described. This conceptual framework will be developed thought a literature search, further developed in cases studies in organisations and regions and used to trail lifelong learning policies.
