Description
The project involves the evaluation of a novel Particle-In-Cell trajectory code to investigate the effect of charged plasma behavior on ion trajectories inside an Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Mass Spectrometer. Due to the large number of protein ions that need to be simulated a shared memory machine is required. The computational facilties will be used in a running Dutch-Russian Collaboration project under the NWO-RBFR collaboration scheme.
