Academic teacher education programmes educate teachers with research-based knowledge that could be applied in schools, where there is a strong need for teachers who can analyse data to shape targeted educational improvements. Yet, many academic teachers often do not seem to be given a role to apply their knowledge in the school. To change this, fourth-year students are working on research questions and data from school boards. This innovation can contribute for students to be better prepared for the practical application of their knowledge, and for school boards to gain a better idea of the role these teachers can fulfil.
