The research field is the behaviour of gasses in interstellar space, i.e. astrophysical hydrodynamics. Most interstellar matter is in the form of gas, and motions in it are often highly supersonic. This results in shocks moving through interstellar space and in order to accurately simulate these, high resolution hydrodynamic calculations are a necessity. This poject concentrates on two types of astrophysical flows: the evolution of density inhomogenuities (clouds), and the evolution of stellar wind bubbles. We are now performing full three-dimensional hydrodynamic calculations using Teras and are in the process of including more realistic physics modules into our code (radiative processes, self-gravity).
