The commercial logistics and road freight transport industries are under pressure to become more efficient. Using gamification this project will enable triallists to learn how to minimise losses (maximise value) in their operations. In doing so it will build on a technique developed by Transfaction, the project lead, which builds upon an entropy measurement system developed by Claude Shannon in his 1948 "A Mathematical Theory of Communication." Gamification when fully deployed will reward increased information sharing and improved behaviours. The intention will be to use it in conjunction with the web "smart-meter" developed during the project, to provide a perpetual monitor of productivity losses and to convey in a fun way the serious message that a greener efficient logistics and transport is possible.
