Institutional Translation Partnership Award Wellcome and ETH Zurich

In order to massively strengthen its efforts in translational research, ETH Zurich wants to improve on all sides. The central plan and first step into this direction is what follows as a flexible organizational model which accommodates existing solutions, covers individual needs, and yet conveys a standard structure, in order to bring researchers from ETH and clinicians closer together. In order to achieve this, the Association of ETH Research Clinics (ARC) is proposed, which is currently developed at ETH. Furthermore, additional fellowships from medical-related research areas will increasingly help young researchers translate their research findings to marketable platforms and accelerate their projects into successful spin-off companies. With the earmarked support of Wellcome for medical-related fellowships, more science entrepreneurs will be strengthened to bring their research to the market and significantly increase the number of spin-off companies in this area.
