Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH) is a regional university positioned “at the crossroads of Europe and Asia” with the motto “Connecting Worlds.” DUTH is evolving into a dynamic regional hub — deeply rooted in its territory while actively engaged in national, European and international networks. The University aims to be an active center of knowledge, co-creation, collaboration and innovation within the European Higher Education and Research Area. It offers a broad range of academic schools and departments (engineering, law, health sciences, education, humanities, social sciences, agricultural and forestry sciences, management and sciences), extensive e-services for its community (webmail, e-class, student registry, VPN, eduroam, digital signatures, etc.), and supports entrepreneurship through initiatives such as the Thinc startup incubator. DUTH also participates in European innovation initiatives, including the DigiAgriFood Digital Innovation Hub to support digital and green transformation across the agri-food value chain.
